History

The Maa ChinnaMastika Devi Mandir at kanti is widely revered as a siddhpeetha, situated on nh-27 (formerly nh-28) in kanti, muzaffarpur district, bihar. The Temple is dedicated To Maa ChinnaMastika — An Incarnation Of Maa Durga.

The Temple is a three-floor structure housing numerous deities including ganesh, ram-lakshman, and mahadev ji. It is an underground-style historic Temple, and devotees follow the tradition of tying a coconut wrapped in chunri (cloth) to pray for wishes — with a widespread belief That Maa Fulfills all sincere prayers. Maa ChinnaMastika Is Also Known As Manokamna Devi due to the belief That She Fulfills the wishes of Her devotees. The Temple draws devotees from across bihar and neighboring states, especially during navratri when large gatherings assemble for special pujas.

By air: nearest airport is darbhanga airport (dbr) (~60 km) or patna airport (pat) (~75 km). Taxis available to kanti from both.

By train: nearest railway station is muzaffarpur junction (~9 km). Take a local auto or taxi towards kanti on nh-27.

By road:

  • The Temple is situated right beside nh-27 (national highway), making it very easy to reach — devotees passing by the highway can stop directly at The Temple gate.
  • Bsrtc buses run regularly between muzaffarpur and kanti
  • From muzaffarpur city: ~8–9 km by auto/taxi via nh-27 towards sitamarhi
  • Ample parking available at The Temple premises
